Deep tissue is intended to affect the tissues that are deep within the body and are often difficult to palpate. This technique is applied slowly and specifically, typically using long sustaining gliding strokes, prolonged direct pressure, and strokes that travel across the muscle perpendicular to the muscle fibers.
