Craniosacral therapy is a subtle technique that can affect deep tissues and have very profound effects through palpating and manipulating the rhythmic flow of cerebrospinal fluid that bathes the brain and sacral cord. This technique is applied very lightly, which is why it may be considered an energy modality, but it’s classified as deep tissue due to the cerebrospinal fluid being deep within the body as well as effects on the deep fascia.
